There seems to be aproblem unraring(might be in the par2). All the downloads are exiting with an error and saving all the segments in a folder that starts with _FAILED_. I am able to get the post, just by running macpar (all the dl check fine, so it only needs to unrar them). Didn’t saw anything in the log file.
I am running leopard on a powerbook g4. So I am going back to the previous version. Thanks, and looking forward to a new version
Think it is the par2 . The history has the following:
Stage Par2
[PAR-INFO] file name: => Scanning “/path/downloads/file name.vol00+01.PAR2″
Stage Unrar
[UNPACK]: => No post-processing because of failed verification
Guess the new par2 is having trouble with one core ppc
there is something wrong with this build, it tries to unzip everything in the Completed Download Folder (leave Sabnzbd.app in this directory, you’ll be surprised lol)
the build I compiled (post on Br41n’s blog) didn’t have this problem, can you check what could be the problem ?
@Anonymous,
Sorry i’ve forgotten leopard ppc users shame on me ! You can replace par2 binary by the old one (right click on SABnzbd.app select “Show package content”, go in ressources/osx/par2 subdir and replace it)
I’ll try to find a way to inlude a ppc binary in next version…
@sbultez,
I will check this and compare my sources with yours…
With SSL enabled on ports 443, 563 and 8080, I notice that my download speeds are lower than with SSL disabled and using port 119. My usenet provider is iUsenet.com and my ISP is Charter Communications.
W/out SSL I can max out my connection, but w/ SSL speeds fluctuate greatly and rarely exceed 2/3 my rated connection speed. I also notice that I can’t seem to open more than 3 connections w/ SSL before connections start getting refused?
Anyway, thanks for the builds and I look forward to new releases!
Feature Request, SABnzbd only UNRAR if possible possible !!
Sure 2GB RAR could be 2,3,4 unpacked, but
It trys also to UNRAR a 2GB download if the drive only have 1 GB or 100MB free.
Every human knows that 2GB packed not fits in less than 2GB unpacked, why a have to wait a long time for the Error report, Stage Unrar
[RAR-INFO] zry-sr: => ERROR: write error, disk full?
This Report have to show befor UNRAR, something like, ERROR, unrar impossible, disk too full!
Don’t know if this has been requested: a daemon mode would be very handy.
For the moment I run hellanzb on a remote machine and control it via SSH, but since their development seems somewhat halted, I would like to switch to sabnzb. However, I would like to run it in a daemon mode.
So “just” the ability to start it via CLI would be nice.
You can start any file/app from cli by just typing open SABnzbd.app for example. From thereon you can use the web interface. Or isnt that what you had in mind?
No, I know how to open a .app from CLI, but that will just bring hte app up. I would like to start it from CLI without anything visual happening in the Finder.
Just like hella: no graphical interface, just CLI…

according to the website, this par2 binary is only for intel 32/64, not ppc …

Hi, it’s working perfectly on my Intel iMac running Leopard. No problem at all!

@sbultez,
I’ve compared your sources with mines and not seen any major diff. I’m not able to reproduce your bug…
@Leopard / PPC users,
I’ve uploaded a version with old par2 & unrar binaries…
http://osx.boiboite.net/downloads/sabnzbd-osx-040B4-oldpar2unrar.dmg
I’ll try to find another solution for next release…
@Leopard / Intel users,
do you notice performance diffs in reparing ?
thanks for the release!
i have a feature request: i would love to see the possibility to open the webpage when i double/single click the dock icon
thanks!!
@omega_red,
checkout sabnzbdgui, try, it’s even better
Thanks for the builds rAf.

Hey Raf,
Thanks for the uptodate builds, anyway to hide the icon from the dock?
You can hide the icon from the Dock with an app called: Dock Dodger. Google it
This build doesnt work on my mac pro and leopard btw. Not downloading anything :S
@Xexr
sabnzbdgui have also an option to hide sab dock icon…
@lowfi
can you give more details ?
@lowfi
maybe related with http://www.sabnzbd.org/2008/05/07/queue-incompatibility-between-beta2-and-beta4/ ?
Fantastic job rAf! Your release ROCKS! Thanks a lot!

I’m having the same problem as Nick. SSL really slows down compared to the non-encrypted download speeds.
@allwaysfull,
for feature request, you should try sab forums, i’dont implement new features… maybe one day…
@Cameron,
I alse have the same issue, i try to figure out why…
Anybody using sab on windows or linux have same issues with SSL ?

@ Pixie : use SABnzbdGUI, it’s just a menu item and can hide the dock.

the other way to do it is to manually install sabnzbd (you’ll need Xcode, and to install the few prerequisites.
